About:
Have you ever felt Invisible, Not Good Enough, Alone, Confused, Left Out…
YOUR FEELINGS AREN’T A BAD THING. They are a gift from God to make space in your heart for more of Him!
God perfectly designed your teen years to capture your whole heart. God loves your age. He sees you and wants you to know Him more. This book is a fun, interactive prayer journal through the Psalms that will teach you how to communicate with God in new ways that make you feel confident, loved and known.

My Review:

With a pretty cover and watercolor theme (inside as well), Priceless certainly has a fresh look that appeals to today's girls. The content inside is just as appealing and, I think, will hopefully encourage the girls who read it.

Written for teen girls by someone who understands just what they're going through, Jen Barrick pours her heart into the pages. She explores loneliness, joy, pain, awkwardness, love and all the other things we feel at times, and reveals what God really thinks about us when we feel this way. Though she's already passed her teen years, Jen's writings are open and relevant to young adults. I didn't feel as though she was trying overly hard to sound teenager-y, trying to sound hip and cool so that girls would read and understand like so many other authors tend to do. I got the impression that when she sat down to write, that's what she did, just sharing her thoughts, feelings and the verses that she loves. Her writings show she really cares and knows what girls are going through, and wants to share her God-given perspective with them.

It's a great devotional for teen girls- teaching them that they are priceless, treasured and loved by the King of kings, whatever they may be feeling at the moment. Chapters and topics are titled this way- "When I feel invisible, I am seen and known", "When I feel like dancing, I'm making God smile", "When I feel like I'm not enough, I am priceless"-and so on. Because feelings are powerful and lovely, but they can also be so very deceitful and confusing.

I'd recommend the book for ages 12-16, although feel free to read even if you are older. We all could use some encouragement every now and then, and a reminder of who we really are, whenever we feel anything other than priceless.

Note: I got this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
